Students Alex and Sophie
Mick has taught my teenage children for four years, in both guitar and bass. During that time, they have progressed from having very limited musical ability, to having the talent and confidence to tackle ambitious pieces at an advanced level.

After just 18 months, my daughter was sufficiently capable to play bass for a local band, and went on to perform at several venues and even record a CD. My son has recently excelled in his school music class, significantly outperforming the other students in his group following coaching from Mick.

When looking for a music teacher, my criteria was to find somebody with patience, approachability, and an aptitude for building and nurturing my children’s confidence.

As such, I am delighted to recommend Mick most highly to anyone interested in learning, whether it is for pleasure, to achieve graded excellence, or to pursue a hobby or even a career in music.

Yours sincerely,

“Having played guitar for over ten years without lessons, I had hit a brick wall in my playing and had become very frustrated with my lack of recent progress.

Since starting lessons with Mick, my playing and technique has improved dramatically. His years of experience and wealth of knowledge and teaching resources have proved invaluable in identifying the weaker areas of my playing and helping me to develop them.

His laid-back demeanour and seemingly infinite patience have also been important factors when attempting new and challenging techniques. He is a skilled player in many different styles across several instruments and can offer as much help to frustrated old hands like me, as to those just starting out.”
